The Accounting Manager, Subscriptions (L6) serves as the accounting owner for Blink"s subscription business, including some treasury operations and subscription revenue accounting. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and serving as the subject matter expert for subscription accounting across the organization. The ideal candidate is a technically strong accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with cross-functional partners, and continuously seeks opportunities to simplify and automate processes.

Key job responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for subscription accounting inquiries; provide guidance on ASC 606, revenue recognition, and accurate guidance on accounting standards and internal policies
  • Translate complex subscription accounting concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non-accounting audiences, including business partners and operational teams
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP and internal controls over financial reporting
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close by addressing open accounting questions related to subscription revenue, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Ability to manage high-volume subscription data (millions of daily transactions) and apply sophisticated AI tools to analyze and build reporting to support the month end process (MEC)
  • Drive continuous accounting automation by owning and delivering AI/ML-powered solutions that transform and scale team processes, improving both daily operational efficiency and month-end close (MEC) effectiveness (Invent and Simplify)
  • Partner with FP&A to review and validate subscription forecasts, ensuring alignment between forecast assumptions and recognized revenue schedules
  • Collaborate with Fintech and Finance to ensure subscription reporting infrastructure reflects accounting requirements; partner with tax teams to meet compliance requirements across international geographies
  • Perform monthly bank and IAP (In-App Purchase) reconciliations for Blink subscription payment accounts in partnership with FinOps, investigating and resolving discrepancies across multiple payment processors in a timely manner
  • Partner with Treasury and Fintech teams on cash settlement accounting, including journal entries for payment processor holds, chargebacks, and settlement timing differences
