We design and build premium-quality power transformers for utility, industrial, renewable, and mission-critical applications, helping secure the U.S. electric grid and power the world's growing infrastructure needs.Position OverviewVirginia Transformer Corp is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead core accounting operations and support the financial integrity of a rapidly growing, multi-site manufacturing organization. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting activities, ensure compliance with GAAP, and partner closely with finance and operations leadership to drive accuracy, efficiency, and scalability across the business.This is a high-impact role offering visibility to senior leadership and the opportunity to help build and enhance accounting processes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting Operations & CloseLead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processesEnsure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in accordance with GAAPReview and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and accrualsMaintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and close proceduresPrepare and analyze financial statements, variance reports, and supporting schedulesPartner with Finance leadership on P&L analysis, cost tracking, and operational reportingProvide insights into cost drivers, margins, and business performance to support decision-makingManage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionalsEstablish clear performance expectations and drive accountability across the teamFoster a culture of accuracy, urgency, collaboration, and continuous improvementCompliance & ControlsEnsure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standardsSupport internal and external audit activitiesMaintain documentation, reconciliations, and processes to ensure audit readinessProcess Improvement & SystemsIdentify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencyPartner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and other business leaders to improve financial workflowsSupport ERP and system enhancements as needed to scale the accounting functionQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA preferred5–10+ years of progressive accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingExperience managing, mentoring, or developing a teamAdvanced proficiency in Excel and ERP systemsStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skillsAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environmentPreferred ExperienceManufacturing or industrial accounting experience strongly preferredCost accounting or plant accounting exposureExperience supporting multi-site or global operationsExperience in a high-growth or evolving organizationWhy Virginia TransformerIndustry leader in power and energy infrastructureRapid growth supporting data centers, utilities, and renewable energyHigh-visibility role with direct impact on business performanceOpportunity to build, improve, and scale accounting processes in a growing organizationCompetitive base salary, performance bonus, and full benefits package#J-18808-Ljbffr
