Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. This role leads key accounting functions including generalledger, cost accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable, and plays a critical role in month-end close, audits, tax filings, and financial analysis. The Accounting Manager works closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to support operational decision-making, particularly in a manufacturing environment, while maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cost accounting, and fixed assets
  • Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Lead and coordinate the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Ensure financial reporting complies with U.S. GAAP, corporate policies, and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Maintain and review internal controls to safeguard company assets and prevent errors or fraud
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responding to audit inquiries
  • Assist with cash management activities, bank reconciliations, and authorized wire transfers
  • Prepare and review sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory filings as required
  • Provide financial analysis related to manufacturing operations, including production variances and cost analysis
  • Partner with finance leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff, promoting strong teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiencies
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned and support business needs across locations as required
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum 6 years of overall accounting experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing industry environment
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements
  • Strong Excel skills required, including experience with complex spreadsheets and financial analysis
  • Valid driver's license, current insurance, and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Bilingual in Spanish
