FTE Accounting Manager
Onsite located in Tamarac, FL.


The Accounting Manager supervises, monitors, and evaluates the day-to-day accounting activities. The individual will prepare, and analysis financial data required to successfully support the organization's endeavors. The manager will work with people at all levels of the organization to report, monitor, and manage key financial and non-financial performance indicators. This position also helps the business unit achieve goals, anticipate needs, and resolve problems.
 
Responsibilities:
• Manage the day-to-day accounting activities such as AP, AR, and Taxes
• Assist Controller with management of month-end and year-end closing process
• Reconcile Balance sheet accounts on monthly basis
• Manage collection activities such as negotiating with past due accounts, bankruptcies, etc.
• Responsible for cash forecasting
• Ensure Expense reports are submitted timely and accurately
• Approve vouchers for payment, manage the terms and the prompt pay discounts
• Handle all aspects of banking
• Compile various reporting packages for the management
• Calculate monthly and quarterly sales and use tax and file returns
• Assist and coordinate efforts with year-end audit
• Mentor, supervise and train Accounting staff
• Maintain and document internal control processes & procedures
• Comply with federal, state, and local requirements
• Adhere to accounting guidelines and mindful of new guidance
• Other duties as assigned
 
Qualifications:
• Accounting - Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking, reporting and research skills.
• Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
• Communication Skills - The ability to write clearly, succinctly and understandably. The ability to effectively communicate, build a rapport and relate well to all kinds of people. Treats all people with respect, courtesy and consideration; respects differences in the attitudes and perspectives of others; listens observes and strives to gain understanding of others. Education and Formal Training:
• 4-year Degree required, with a concentration in Business, Accounting or Finance

Experience:
• 5+ yrs. of Accounting experience.
• 5+ yrs. of Management experience preferred.
• SAP experience preferred.
• Advanced skills in MS Excel Required.
• ERP setup and IT infrastructure knowledge preferred.
