Position Summary:

Responsible for accurate and timely accounting for manufacturing and maintenance activities.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to reporting procedural standards in a timely manner.
  • Review accuracy of raw materials, WIP (work-in process), and finished goods inventory balances in the accounting system.
  • Review work orders to ensure that costs are properly classified as capital or expense and are recorded in the proper account, cost-center and period.
  • Review CIP (construction-in-process) and other fixed asset transactions for compliance with Company policy.
  • Perform capital expenditure analysis.
  • Assist with month-end closing process including preparing/posting journal entries and preparing/reviewing account reconciliations.
  • Perform review of accounts payable transactions to ensure that amounts are coded correctly, reflected in the proper accounting period, and properly classified as intercompany or related party as necessary.
  • Analyze cost fluctuations compared to prior periods and forecasts.
  • Monitor and balance intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Assist with internal and external audit requests.
  • Work on special projects and perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  • 40+ hours per week may be required during financials reporting periods.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience with a publicly-traded company preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within an Accounting environment.
  • 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • CPA/CMA preferred.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Operates in a professional and/or business casual office environment.
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptops, photocopiers/scanners, and smartphones.
  • Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
  • Must be able to adhere to process protocol
