A dynamic and growing organization is seeking an Assistant Controller to support the overall accounting and financial reporting function. This individual will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing the close process, overseeing cost accounting activities, and supporting a strong internal control environment. The position offers significant exposure to leadership and cross-functional teams while contributing to operational excellence and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the execution and management of day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Assist in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to accounting team members.
  • Review project, production, or operational costing activities.
  • Prepare financial reports, variance analyses, and supporting schedules.
  • Coordinate support for audits, tax compliance requirements, and other external reporting requests.
  • Help maintain and enhance accounting procedures.
  • Collaborate with departments across operations, customer support, supply chain, technology, and finance to resolve issues and improve business processes.
  • Assist with financial systems administration.
  • Participate in special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including exposure to financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close responsibilities.
  • Previous experience leading projects, mentoring staff, or supervising accounting personnel is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, reconciliations, and reporting processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools within a mid to large sized organization.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling techniques.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, solve problems, and improve processes.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to handle confidential information.
