  • Conduct complex analytical research using massive datasets; draw strategic conclusions from analytical findings and present insights to management.

Ledger Close Ownership:

  • Drive and manage major general ledger close activities, prepare complex journal entries, and perform advanced balance sheet reconciliations.

Autonomy & Discrepancy Resolution:

  • Identify and resolve systemic or complex financial discrepancies with minimal supervision.

Automation & Innovation:

  • Proactively seek process improvements, workflow automation opportunities, and creative uses for AI inside our close routines.

Cross-Functional Leadership:

  • Partner directly with senior management and internal departments (Tax, Audit, Merchandise Planning, Supply Chain) to resolve cross-functional ledger discrepancies.

Controls & Auditing:

  • Serve as the owner of key financial and close controls, ensuring alignment with external/internal audit requirements (SOX).

System Upgrades:

  • Collaborate directly with IT regarding ledger system upgrades or software modifications to ensure strict adherence to accounting policies.

Mentorship & Onboarding:

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and training to staff-level analysts within the Controllers department.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required. CPA, CMA, or active progress toward licensure is highly preferred.

Experience:

  • 3–5+ years of progressive professional experience in general ledger accounting, close management, or public accounting audit.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities (Power Query, advanced lookup functions, macros/VBA). Experience with major ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, etc.) is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Exceptional analytical capabilities, strong interpersonal skills, high adaptability to change, and a desire to advance within the organization.
