Lead Project Cost Accountant

Are you an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment? We're looking for a Lead Project Cost Accountant to play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting complex government contracts, and driving process improvements within a collaborative accounting team.
What You'll Do
- Lead revenue recognition activities under ASC 606, including Contract Review Worksheets (CRWs)
- Review contract setup within the ERP system
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and cost reclassifications
- Perform inventory net realizable value (NRV) assessments
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances
- Prepare quarterly Estimate-at-Completion (EAC) profit reporting and financial flux analysis
- Calculate and support monthly accruals, including warranty and program-related accruals
- Prepare corporate reporting schedules and HFM reporting packages
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Partner with internal and external auditors, including SOX compliance efforts
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis
