The Financial Transaction Processing Specialist is responsible for processing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, completing reconciliations, and providing administrative support to ensure financial activities are completed accurately and on time.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proficient in Microsoft Excel, comfortable with data entry, and able to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Experience with general ledger reconciliations is beneficial but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Processing
Process daily financial transaction activity, including incoming and outgoing cash transactions.
Ensure transactions are completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with established department and company policies.
Record and maintain transaction information within appropriate databases and systems.
Review transaction information for accuracy and completeness.
Reconciliation & Financial Support
Complete daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of:
General ledger data
Banking data
Cash transaction activity
Research and identify discrepancies as necessary.
Support accurate financial recordkeeping and reporting.
General ledger reconciliation experience is preferred but not required.
Risk & Fraud Monitoring
Evaluate transactions for potential fraud or other financial risk factors.
Promptly escalate suspicious transactions or potential risks to appropriate members of management.
Ensure potential financial risks are communicated in a timely manner so appropriate action can be taken.
Administrative & Clerical Support
Perform general administrative and clerical duties, including:
Data entry
Copying
Scanning
Mailing
Filing
Report distribution
Responding to emails
Responding to phone calls
Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation.
Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
Required Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Previous data entry experience.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Ability to accurately process financial and transactional information.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet established deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience with general ledger reconciliations.
Experience performing banking, cash, or account reconciliations.
Previous experience processing financial transactions or working with financial data.
