POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Services Support Specialist serves as a key operational leader and deputy to the Manager, Accounting Support Services, with expanded responsibility for the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of vendor, lessee, and landlord data within the accounting system. This role provides day-to-day oversight of intake, review, and system entry processes, ensuring that contractual and lease documentation meets required standards prior to financial recognition.
The Specialist exercises independent judgment in reviewing landlord and lease-related agreements to validate that all required commercial and financial terms are complete, accurate, and aligned with internal requirements. When gaps or discrepancies are identified, this role proactively partners with landlords and internal stakeholders to obtain and validate the necessary information prior to system entry.
In addition to managing workflow in Jira and supporting contract compliance reviews, this role serves as the primary escalation point for complex issues, drives process improvements, and supports service delivery against established KPIs. The Specialist also provides informal leadership, mentors team members, and serves as a reliable backup for managerial responsibilities, ensuring operational continuity and adherence to internal controls.
