Accounting Specialist - Construction

Johnson Service Group (JSG) has an immediate opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to join an established Electrical Contractor in San Diego. 

Contract to Hire | Onsite | $29 - $32/Hr. based on skills, education, experience, and other relevant qualifications.

Summary: 
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting & Compliance Specialist to support accounting, payroll, and compliance functions.

Responsibilities:

• Process customer billing, AR follow-up, AP invoices, payment runs, ACH payments, and bank deposits
• Enter and reconcile transactions in Sage 300
• Prepare and submitCertified Payroll Reports
• Coordinate background checks, employee badging, and compliance documentation
• Manage and track Certificates of Insurance (COIs)
• Provide backup support for payroll, 401(k), health, and pension reporting

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related administrative role
• Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable experience
• Experience with certified payroll and compliance reporting  
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
• Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and handle confidential information
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Sage 300 experience preferred
