Job Title: Accounting SpecialistLocation: Grand Blanc, MIHours: 7:30-4:30PM, Monday - FridayPay: $24-27/hr. This is a Direct Hire position. Grand Blanc-based financial institution is currently seeking an Accounting Specialist with prior banking experience to calculate, post to general ledger, and verify financial data for use in maintaining accounting records and other general accounting responsibilities. Candidates must be detail oriented, enjoy working collaboratively with a team, and be able to multi-task. Associate's degree in accounting or similar field is required; Bachelor's degree is preferred. This is Direct Hire position.

Essential Responsibilities:- Compile, verify, and process financial transactions and supporting documentation
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements to ensure accuracy
- Prepare and post journal entries and daily transaction activity
- Manage accounts payable, wire transfers, and expense reporting processes
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, including 1099s, Form 945, and EFTPS submissions
- Communicate with financial institutions, vendors, and processors to resolve discrepancies
- Prepare regulatory and financial reports and maintain audit documentation
- Process transaction exceptions (ATM, Visa, etc.) and monitor account activity
- Maintain fixed asset records and support financial tracking systems
- Assist with reporting, data distribution, and other accounting duties as assigned
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:- Associate's degree in accounting or similar field.
- 2 years credit union experience and or accounting experience.
- Working knowledge of Windows XP, MS Office, Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Experience with file imports/exports mail merge and MS Access.
- Must be bondable.
