General Function

With general direction, performs a variety of moderately complex, technical accounting tasks related to preparing, maintaining and reviewing financial reports and records.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Monitors activity in assigned sponsorship accounts; audits specified accounts for accuracy; creates sponsorship accounts as requested.
  • Balances and reconciles assigned accounts and/or funds; researches and reconciles any problems or discrepancies.
  • Gathers and summarizes data; conducts research and analyzes data.
  • Prepares invoices for various sponsors and monitors receivables.
  • Assists students with account inquiries.
  • Prepares various journal entries; makes recommendations regarding journal entries.
  • Reviews and processes financial forms and records.
  • Processes tuition and sponsorship payments upon receipt.
  • Provides information and responds to inquiries; advises departments on policies and procedures relating to their budgets and other financial information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree in accounting or closely related field and two years of relative work experience OR;

Bachelors degree in accounting, business administration, or related field

  • Excellent organizational skills, time management, and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, adapting to changing priorities and situations, and follow-through on the completion of assignments
