Accounting Specialist

Full-Time | Location: Ogden


We’re looking for an Accounting Specialist to join our finance team and support daily accounting operations, vendor management, inventory reporting, and cross-functional financial activities. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting or finance career who enjoys analytical work, problem-solving, and collaborating with multiple departments.


What You’ll Do

  • Support Accounts Payable through vendor communication, statement reviews, and document coordination.

  • Assist with administrative AP tasks such as tax exemption forms, credit applications, and document processing.

  • Track monthly usage of chemicals and consumables, highlighting unusual trends or cost changes.

  • Review Maintenance & Spares spending and help investigate variances.

  • Work with site engineering to help move Capex-related POs and invoices through the system.

  • Provide analytical support for special projects, including data gathering, reconciliation, and root-cause analysis.

  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, and HR to validate data and improve cost visibility.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline reporting and enhance accuracy.

  • Support year-end audit activities and assist leadership with financial requests as needed.

  • Help maintain compliance with safety, environmental, food safety, and company policies.

  • Follow the company’s integrated management systems, including Production, Quality, Food Safety, and GMP.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 1–3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or data analysis; manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with ERP or financial systems.

  • CPA designation (or progress toward CPA) is an asset.

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.

  • Organized, analytical, and able to manage multiple deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-oriented and committed to delivering accurate work on time.
