Accounting Specialist (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Riverside, CA

Compensation: $23-$27 per hour, depending on experience

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join a growing organization in Riverside. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to expand their experience across multiple accounting functions.

The Accounting Specialist will support day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general accounting activities. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring proper coding, approvals, and timely payment

  • Generate customer invoices and support accounts receivable activities

  • Apply cash receipts and reconcile customer accounts

  • Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations

  • Assist with month-end close activities, including journal entries and account analysis

  • Research and resolve invoice, payment, and account discrepancies

  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding account inquiries

  • Assist with audit requests and special accounting projects

  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or bookkeeping experience preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred

  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and customer service abilities

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently

Pay Details: $23.00 to $27.00 per hour
