We are searching for an Accounting Specialist for a client that is a gasket fabricator, hose assembly fabricator and distributor supplying the Aerospace, Construction, Transportation, Pharmaceutical, Energy, Chemical and Semi-conductor markets. The office would be located in Schenectady, NY.
Their core services to clients include supplying local customers with die-cut components fabricated from a wide range of materials including rubber, sponge, graphite, cork and compressed materials.
In this role, the Accounting Specialist will:
• Reconcile and record accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions
• Invoice daily shipments through the company's ERP system & in customer platforms
• Process bank deposits
• Review customer account balances regularly initiate collection of past-due amounts with sales team
• Batch and record credit card transactions
• Establish new customer creditworthiness with management
• Maintain accurate customer account information
• Assist with month and year end closing procedures
• Resolve discrepancies between customer payments and invoices
• Maintain electronic records for all transactions
• Reconcile and record supplier rebates
• Additional accounting support functions as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum 2 years' accounting experience, a degree in Business or Accounting preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management, and coworkers
• Must be well organized and have strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Excel
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow with the business

Hourly rate range: $22 .00 - $27.00 depending on experience.
