Kforce has a client in Cambridge, MA that is seeking an Accounting Supervisor for a full time, onsite role. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the financial activities of a multi-faceted organization. This is a family-style, collaborative, team-oriented office and a high-visibility role working closely with senior leadership. Supervisory experience is required. Position Overview: The Accounting Supervisor will manage the comprehensive accounting process-including bi-weekly ADP payroll, staff oversight, and accurate financial reporting-across multiple entities using QuickBooks. Key Responsibilities Financial Records:
  • Maintain financial statements and records for multiple entities/clients in QuickBooks
  • Prepare/review timely internal reports to support management decision-making
  • Manage month-end and year-end close, including bank reconciliations and discrepancy research
  • Handle cash management activities as directed (e.g., wires, ACH payments)
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to gather information and keep records current
Payroll & Benefits:
  • Oversee end-to-end ADP payroll processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Manage compensation-related tasks with a high level of confidentiality
  • Assist with health insurance/benefits administration, including payroll deductions
  • Coordinate insurance policy changes, renewals, and requirements
Accounting Operations:
  • Serve as a liaison to team members across departments
  • Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Coordinate with external tax preparers/auditors and support audit processes
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and reporting requirements
  • Manage multiple deadlines and requests across various entities (strong attention to detail required)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience (small business environment a plus)
  • Lead/Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (advanced Excel skills a plus)
  • Experience with QuickBooks and ADP Workforce Now

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
