JOB SPECIFICS
Washington County Community Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Accounting Supervisor. This position follows generally accepted accounting principles to prepare, maintain and analyze financial records necessary to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.
This position requires significant technical knowledge, independent judgment, accuracy and the ability to manage assignments of a more complex nature. The Accounting Supervisor functions as a subject matter expert, directing day-to-day financial operations while mentoring and supervising junior accountants and financial technicians.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE:

HOURS / DAYS: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday. Work schedules (hours and days) and location are subject to change based on department needs.
ANTICIPATED HIRING RATE: $84,718.40 - $115,668.80 Annually

JOB SUMMARY
The Accounting Supervisor ensures the Countys fiscal integrity through consistent application of County policies related to the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, treasury, collections, and accounts receivable.
EMPLOYMENT CRITERIA
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: The job requires a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Public Administration, or a closely related field, and five years of paid professional financial experience which includes auditing, internal controls, general ledger accounting, budgeting or taxation, or equivalent. Two years of supervisory or four years of lead worker experience is required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Physical effort is light for the majority of work with lifting or carrying limited to 25 pounds intermittently. There is frequent pressure associated with a project or activity deadlines and details. Report preparation and writing at times requires extended use of a keyboard. Work interruptions are frequent.
Must have own means of reliable transportation for business purposes. Individuals operating a motor vehicle for County business must possess a valid drivers license.
