Job Description

What You Will Be Doing

  • Administer the Department of Administrations OneCard (PCard) program by managing cardholder accounts, providing training, and monitoring compliance.
  • Review and certify financial and procurement transactions to ensure they are accurate and comply with state policies and procedures.
  • Process departmental deposits and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Provide fiscal guidance and customer service to department staff on purchasing card and accounting processes.
  • Assist with travel, payroll, reimbursable services agreements (RSAs), and other fiscal duties as needed to support department operations.

The Working Environment You Can Expect

You will work in a professional office setting on the 10th floor of the State Office Building in Juneau, with great views of the Gastineau Channel and a quiet, team-oriented workspace that supports focused financial and administrative duties. The daily environment involves consistent computer-based work, regular communication with staff across the department, and no travel requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of entry technical level accounting or clerical bookkeeping experience.

Substitutions:

Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.
