Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.DescriptionThe Accounts Payable Accountant is responsible for processing vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and credit card reports. This role involves managing payments and performing monthly reconciliations. The Accounts Payable Accountant also serves as a key point of contract for addressing payment inquiries.About the Accounting DepartmentThe accounting department plays a critical role in the financial health of the organization. Our programs deeply engage in conversations and training on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to bring equity and justice to the youth and families we serve.ResponsibilitiesAnalyzing and processing invoices and employee reimbursements for payments in a timely and accurate manner.Ensure proper coding and approvals in accordance with company policy.Review and reconcile credit card transactions, ensuring proper coding and supporting documentation.Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor and employee records.Respond to vendor and employee inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies professionally and promptly.Prepare and process payments via check, ACH, or wire transfer, including uploading positive pay files.Assist with month-end closing by preparing accruals.Support internal audits and external financial audits by providing required documentation.Prepare weekly disbursement summary for cash report.Additional responsibilities as requested by leadership.QualificationsRequiredEducation/experience requirements:Bachelor's degree in finance or accountingAssociate's degree in finance or accounting + 1 year of applicable work experienceHigh school diploma/GED + 2 years of applicable work experienceApplicable work experience includes comparable roles in the accounting industryWith strong preference and proficiency in Sage Intacct, Paymerang, Emburse Professional, and FloQastAt least 21 years of ageTB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirementsSkills of an Ideal CandidateAbility to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work as a team player within the department and the agencyStrong organizational skills and time management skillsAbility to adapt to changes while working in a fast-paced environmentAbility to communicate effectivelyAbility to prioritize tasks effectively to meet accounts payable deadlinesScheduleHybrid; Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:00pmRequired to be at Oakland office every ThursdayStarting at $32.78- $35.28 per hourActual salary is dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the roleSalary increases each year5 weeks of Paid Time off and 11 Paid HolidaysMedical, dental, vision, chiropractic, acupuncture, and fertility coverageLong-term disability, family leave, and life insuranceScholarship opportunities, ongoing training, and professional development opportunitiesPromotional opportunities across the agency in California and WashingtonEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
