Overview:
Are you detail-oriented and eager to contribute to a finance team in a dynamic role?
MBP is looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team and support the day-to-day accounts payable operations while fostering excellent vendor and team member relationships.
What You'll Do:
You will manage accounts payable processes, interact with vendors and internal teams, and play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records while working independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
- Receive and review invoices, check requests, and related documentation for completeness and compliance with policies, procedures, and contractual requirements
- Code, verify, and enter accounts payable data into the accounting system
- Reconcile subsidiary vendor ledgers with accounts payable totals and general ledger
- Prepare and enter month-end general ledger entries
- Coordinate weekly check run setup and execution
- Follow up on account statements and discrepancies, liaising between departments and vendors to resolve issues
- Set up and verify new vendor applications
- Create and enter daily deposits and perform bank deposits
- Review submitted expense reports for discrepancies
- Maintain Accounts Payable tracker on a monthly basis
Who We Are Looking For
Experience:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office with experience using VLOOKUP and pivot tables
Qualifications:
Education/Knowledge:
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
- Understanding of accounting principles
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, capable of managing multiple priorities
- Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in automated accounting systems, preferably Deltek Vantagepoint
- Capability to interpret vendor invoices and statements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Guidance/Responsibility:
- Operate independently on day-to-day accounts payable tasks while following established policies and reporting to management as needed
- Provide accurate and timely processing to support financial operations
Supervisory:
- Reports to the Director of Finance
- No direct supervisory responsibilities
Status: Full-time
The base salary range for this position is $50,000.00 to $55,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on work location, qualifications, experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
