We're looking for an Accounts Clerk to own day-to-day accounting operations while supporting accurate reporting and clean financial close in a fast-moving manufacturing and government-contracting environment. You'll touch the full accounting cycle — from transaction processing through financial analysis — and your work will directly support leadership, board, and investor reporting as well as our government contract billing and compliance.

This role suits someone who is hands-on, detail-driven, and comfortable building process where little exists yet.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice processing, and routine bookkeeping.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger records, investigate discrepancies, and resolve them promptly.
  • Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support leadership planning, board reporting, and investor updates.
  • Gather and organize documentation for tax filings and support the external tax preparation process.
  • Help develop budgets by compiling financial data and partnering with management on planning.
  • Conduct internal reviews of accounting records and processes, and recommend improvements that strengthen controls and efficiency.
  • Help maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations and stay current on relevant accounting standards.
  • Support further development of ERP and accounts systems.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience across AP, AR, reconciliations, and close. (Set the floor where you want it — I defaulted to a normal range in place of the original bilingual tiers.)
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel for reporting, analysis, and data organization.
  • Ability to prepare financial statements and interpret financial information with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and ERP platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, ADP, or Great Plains).
  • Understanding of audit support, budget tracking, and general accounting procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain organized records, and communicate clearly in a structured environment.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a manufacturing, hardware, or defense-technology company.
  • Familiarity with government contract accounting and cost principles (FAR/DFARS, DCAA-compliant cost tracking) or govcon ERP systems.
  • Experience with government contract accounting; including tracking of direct and indirect costs, contract billing, and documentation supporting allowable/unallowable cost treatment.
  • Experience supporting a company through rapid headcount and revenue growth.
