Accounts Payable Clerk I

Department: Accounting

Reports To: General Accounting Manager

Location: Dallas

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Jackson Walker, the largest law firm in Texas, has an exciting full-time employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk I in our Dallas office. The Accounts Payable Clerk I supports the Firm’s accounting operations through processing invoices, employee reimbursements, payment requests, and related accounts payable activities. This entry-level role assists with maintaining accurate financial records, supporting vendor payment processes, and ensuring compliance with Firm accounting procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process invoices, reimbursements, and payment requests accurately and timely.
  • Assist with account reconciliation and validation of invoice data.
  • Support general accounts payable processing and filing activities.
  • Assist with overnight mail, AP reports, and administrative requests.
  • Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
  • Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant accounting or accounts payable experience required.
  • Prior law firm or professional services experience preferred.
  • Basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounts payable processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
