Job Description
The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing, verifying, reconciling, and paying invoices and contract payments accurately and on time. This role also supports vendor relationships, financial reporting, month-end activities, and compliance with established accounting policies and internal controls.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure documents received for payment contain the required approval signatures and are accompanied by the required delivery documents.
- Review invoices and support documents for accuracy and appropriateness.
- Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system and verify proper coding and authorization.
- Process payments in accordance with payment terms and company policy, including checks, ACH and wire transfers, as applicable.
- Reconcile vendor statements and research and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive working relationships with suppliers.
- Enter manual payments into JD Edwards.
- Document error messages.
- Review and approve invoices in the Metaviewer system.
- Match checks and invoices to submit for imaging.
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations and reporting.
- Maintain organized and accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Computer literate with the ability to work with JD Edwards, BOX, Outlook, Metaviewer, Windows, Excel and Word; familiarity with other accounting systems is a plus.
- 1-3 years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, general accounting or related office experience preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate Degree preferred.
- Professionally perform multiple, detailed-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
- Strong writing and organizational skills.
- Possess strong work ethic, integrity, loyalty and initiative in getting things done.
- Team player with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Typing (min. of 40wpm) and 10-key skills required, with high degree of accuracy.

The base pay range for this position is $21/hour, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
