Accounts Payable Specialist (Temporary – 13 Week Assignment)

Location: Brentwood, TN (100% Onsite)
Pay: $26.00 - $31.00/hour
Duration: 13-week contract (Medical Leave Coverage)

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join an accounting team on a temporary basis. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys managing the full accounts payable process with accuracy and efficiency.

What You'll Do

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and on time.
• Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receipts, and invoices.
• Code invoices to the appropriate general ledger accounts.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing issues, and billing questions.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and reconcile vendor statements.
• Resolve issues involving short payments, credits, and missing invoices.
• Maintain organized AP records and ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Support the accounting team with additional projects as needed.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience in a high-volume environment.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles.
• Experience with invoice coding and three-way matching.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Experience

• Experience with ERP systems.
• Exposure to automated invoice processing solutions.
• Experience supporting multi-entity organizations is a plus.

Position Details

• 13-week temporary assignment covering a medical leave.
• Monday-Friday, onsite in Brentwood, TN (5 days/week).
• Competitive hourly pay of $26-$31/hour, based on experience.
