Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a growing team in Irving, TX. This role is primarily responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the accounting system while supporting Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger functions.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong number perception skills, and delivers exceptional internal and external customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Enter and maintain coded invoices and payments in the accounting system
Ensure accuracy of all financial data entered
Support A/P, A/R, and G/L teams as needed
Review income statements regularly
Assist with audit preparation
Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve accounting issues
Maintain accurate coding and documentation standards
Provide excellent service to internal team members and external partners
Required Skills & Experience
Basic computer and office experience
Strong Data Entry skills
Experience with Accounting (A/P, A/R, G/L preferred)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
10-Key experience
Strong Customer Service skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Strong attention to detail and number accuracy
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in accounting within a similar industry
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Willingness to cross-train in other accounting functions
Physical Requirements
Majority of the day spent sitting at a desk (85%+)
Regular keyboard use
Ability to lift up to 5 pounds consistently
Occasional stair climbing
