Job Description:

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the Accounting - Accounts Payable to manage the Accounts Payable Department in conjunction with supporting the CFO and Accountant.

Essential Job Functions

  • Code and enter invoices, expense reports, credit card transactions, and check requests, with correct codes to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
  • Handle vendor correspondence via phone or email. Investigate and resolve problems as needed.
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements.
  • Prepare purchase orders as required for various vendors.
  • Receive, research, and resolve a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
  • Provide information by answering questions and responding to requests.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
  • Ability to be at work regularly and on time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Healthcare office experience preferred.
  • No less than two to three years bookkeeping experience required.
  • Candidate must have a working knowledge of bookkeeping and generally accepted accounting principles.

Working conditions

This position works in an outpatient medical office. This position does not have any direct patient contact.

Physical requirements

This position requires the employee sit at a computer for up to eight hours a day. This position may also require extensive telephone work.
