Accounts Payable Manager
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead a high-performing AP team and oversee end-to-end accounts payable operations in a high-volume, multi-entity environment. This role is ideal for a strong people leader with deep AP processing knowledge, vendor communication experience, solid controls awareness, and the ability to partner cross-functionally on payment planning and cash-flow support.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily accounts payable operations, including invoice intake, coding review, approval routing, posting, exception resolution, and vendor inquiries.
• Manage weekly payment runs, including checks, ACH, and wires, while ensuring proper approvals, controls, and payment planning support.
• Maintain vendor master records, including onboarding documentation, W-9/TIN validation, and banking-detail verification.
• Strengthen payment-fraud controls and ensure proper verification for vendor banking changes, payment redirects, and related investigations.
• Lead month-end and year-end AP close activities, including subledger-to-GL tie-outs, AP aging review, accrual support, and cutoff requirements.
• Oversee 1099 reporting, W-9 file completeness, audit support, SOP maintenance, and internal controls.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop AP team members while balancing workloads, cross-training for coverage, and managing performance.
• Drive continuous improvement in AP processes, automation, reporting, and payment workflows.
Systems & Tools
• ERP system experience required
• Expense platforms such as Concur
• Banking platforms and payment systems
• Advanced Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables; VBA and Power Query are a plus
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, including at least 2 years supervising an AP team.
• ERP proficiency required; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or NAV experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in a high-volume, multi-entity environment preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills required; expense-platform administration experience is a plus.
• Working knowledge of 1099 reporting, AP internal controls, vendor management, and audit support.
• Strong communication, organization, leadership, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Schedule: Hybrid with three days in office.
Compensation: $90,000 to $100,000, based on education and experience.
