PositionSummary:TheAccountspayable(AP)managerisresponsiblefor managingtheagency’sfinancialpaymentsto suppliers,vendors,andothercreditors.Theyaretheprimarypointofcontactforpaymentsmadeorowedbythe company.ThepersoninthispositionwillsupervisetheAccountsPayable/AccountingClerkpositions.TheAccounts PayableManagerprovidestrainingtoBFPandFamilyofAgenciesontravelreimbursementandservesastheagencyA/P back-up.Thepersoninthis positionattendstoaccountingsoftwareissuesandeditsreportas needed.

 

Technical/Functional Expectations:

 

1.       AccountsPayableProcesses–EssentialFunction:Monitorandanalyzeaccountspayableprocessesandrecommend improvementstoincreaseefficiencyandaccuracy.

2.       AccountsPayable–EssentialFunction:Processanddocumentaccountspayabletransactionsinordertoaccurately payvendors,andassociates.

3.       APInvoiceReconciliation–EssentialFunction:Performdailyaccountingfunctionsto includethecalculating, verifyingandpostingoffinancialtransactionstothegeneralledgersystem.

4.       RecordKeeping–EssentialFunction:Establishormaintainanaccuraterecordoftransactionsinordertocreatea historyofpaymentsfor futurereference.

5.       Ensurecompliancewithaccountingpoliciesandprocedures–EssentialFunction:Monitorrequestsforpaymentto ensurecompliancewithallaccountingpoliciesandproceduresandassistinthetrainingofallstaffrelatingtothese.

6.       AccountingManagementSupport –EssentialFunction:Providessupporttoaccountingmanagementinthe

preparationandgatheringofinformationforthebudgetingprocess,financialanalysisandallfiscalmonitoringand

auditsperformedontheAgency.

7.       Managesandtrainsaccountspayableemployees–EssentialFunction:Assuresallaccountspayableemployeesare

trainedappropriately.

8.       CollaborationwithAgencyDepartments–EssentialFunction:Collaboratewithotherdepartments,suchas

procurementandfinance,toensuretimelyandaccuratepaymentofinvoices.

9.       Otherdutiesasrequired:Jobperformancerequiresfulfillingotherincidentalorrelateddutiesasassigned,assisting

andtrainingothers,andperformingdutiesofhigherratedpositionsfromtimetotimefor developmentalpurposes.

BusinessExperience:

 

1.    10+yearsofprioraccountingexperience:PriorexperienceanddemonstratedcompetencyrequiredinA/P,A/R

anddataentrywithminimaloversight.

2.    Strongcomputerskills:Thisisessentialinordertoquicklylearntheuniquedatabasesystemsrequiredto

performthe functionsofthisposition.

 

EducationalandExperienceRequirements:

 

1.    HighSchoolDiplomaandstatedbusinessexperiencerequired.

2.    AA/AS-associate’sdegreeinaccountingpreferred.

3.    Five(5)yearsprogressiveexperienceinAP,AR,dataentryrequired.

4.    Priorexperienceinnon-profitenvironmentpreferred.
