Atlantic Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Manager in New York, NY for our client, supporting accounts payable operations, process improvement initiatives, vendor management, and financial controls within a large global organization. This leadership role will oversee the full accounts payable lifecycle while driving automation, operational efficiency, and scalable processes across multiple business entities. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounts payable expertise, experience in high-volume environments, and a technology-forward mindset focused on continuous improvement.

Responsibilities as the Accounts Payable Manager:
  • Accounts Payable Leadership: Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate invoice processing, payments, and reconciliations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process enhancements, automation initiatives, and scalable workflow solutions.
  • Vendor Management: Maintain strong vendor relationships, resolve escalated issues, and support compliance with payment terms and procurement requirements.
  • Financial Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, accounting policies, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Monitor accounts payable metrics, aging reports, cash requirements, and spending trends while providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with accounting, treasury, procurement, legal, and finance teams to support efficient procure-to-pay operations.
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Manager:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
  • Experience: 5-8 years of progressive accounts payable experience within a high-volume corporate environment is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounts payable operations, vendor management, financial controls, and multi-entity accounting environments is required.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with ERP systems is required. Experience with SAP, AP automation platforms, and financial technology solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Excellent communication, presentation, leadership, problem-solving, and process improvement skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive operational change are required.
