Kforce has a client in Washington, DC that is seeking an Accounts Payable Manager. Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the full-cycle Accounts Payable function, including invoice intake, validation, processing, and payment execution with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Utilize deep knowledge of Workday Financials (or similar ERP systems) to manage AP operations and support system-related enhancements
  • Identify gaps in current processes and lead automation and workflow improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
  • Maintain ownership of the vendor master file, ensuring data integrity and compliance with internal controls
  • Monitor AP activities to ensure all transactions adhere to established accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Partner cross-functionally with Procurement, Accounting, and Finance teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth payment processes
  • Supervise and support AP staff, setting expectations, prioritizing workload, and ensuring deadlines and service levels are consistently met
  • Quickly identify and troubleshoot discrepancies or bottlenecks, delivering practical solutions to maintain operational continuity
  • Deliver regular reporting and ad hoc analysis to leadership to support visibility into AP performance and key trends
  • Promote a high standard of internal and external customer service, ensuring timely resolution of vendor and stakeholder inquiries

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of progressive Accounts Payable experience, including prior team leadership
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Workday Financials (required)
  • Proven ability to lead process improvement and automation initiatives within AP
  • Experience operating in a controlled, compliance-focused environment (e.g., SOX or similar)
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical capabilities
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
