Accounts Payable Specialist

Maintain accounts payable module and perform all accounts payable functions and filing for numerous funding sources. Reconcile accounts in a timely manner and according to schedule. Assist in the preparation of certain monthly financial statements, supporting schedules and audit schedules. Prepare and distribute 1099-Misc forms by IRS deadlines. Perform the annual Escheatment process by specified deadlines. Interact with vendors and suppliers regarding invoices, payments, and related issues; maintain and update a variety of accounting and financial information. May also assist with related special projects and provide general office support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains accounts payable module on MITAS system and performs all accounts payable functions for numerous funding sources
  • Process ACH and Internal transfers
  • Reconciles accounts as assigned
  • Assists in the preparation of certain monthly financial statements, supporting schedules & audit schedules
  • Prepares and distributes annual 1099-MISC Forms by the IRS deadline
  • Perform the annual Escheatment process by specified deadlines.
  • Provides daily Accounting support in MITAS System, Wells Fargo CEO, Vendor Payments database, Travel Advance database, Receipts database, and the Delegation of Authority
  • Interacts with auditors, vendors, and MFA staff
  • Maintain scanned files
  • Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and three years experience in General Ledger accounting, Reporting and Accounts Payable. Proficient in Excel.
