Job Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and account reconciliations within a manufacturing environment. This role supports month‑end close, maintains strong vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with internal controls and company policies. Experience using Sage accounting software and prior exposure to manufacturing operations are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process high‑volume accounts payable invoices, including 3‑way matching (PO, receiving, invoice)
  • Review, code, and enter invoices accurately in Sage
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies related to pricing, quantities, freight, and manufacturing variances
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
  • Maintain vendor master data and respond to supplier inquiries
  • Reconcile AP subledger to the general ledger and assist with month‑end close
  • Prepare AP accruals related to inventory, raw materials, and plant expenses
  • Support audits by providing AP documentation and schedules
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, approval workflows, and company policies
  • Collaborate with purchasing, receiving, and plant operations teams

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Hands‑on experience with Sage accounting software (required)
  • Strong understanding of inventory‑related AP, freight, and manufacturing cost flows
  • Experience with purchase orders and receiving processes
  • Proficient in Excel (lookup formulas, filtering, reconciliations)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
