Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Westwood, CA
Compensation: $70,000 - $80,000 annually
Employment Type: Full-Time

Our client is a growing real estate development company focused on delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use development projects throughout Southern California. They are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their accounting team and support high-volume construction and development accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and code accounts payable invoices accurately and timely.
  • Review, input, and reconcile construction contracts, subcontractor agreements, and change orders.
  • Verify invoice approvals and ensure payments align with contract terms and project budgets.
  • Track commitments, contract balances, and change order activity.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve payment discrepancies.
  • Assist with month-end close activities including AP accruals and account reconciliations.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical AP documentation.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Development Managers, and vendors regarding invoice status and contract matters.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Support audit requests and reporting requirements.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably within real estate development, construction, or property management.
  • Experience reviewing and processing construction invoices, contracts, lien waivers, and change orders.
  • Strong understanding of job cost accounting and project-related expenses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Yardi software strongly preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Pay Details: $70,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
