Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Lyndhurst, NJ
Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite
Compensation: $70,000 base salary

About the Opportunity
A well-established and growing organization in the manufacturing/distribution space is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its Financial Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to build on their AP experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform account reconciliations using advanced Excel skills
Maintain accuracy of AP-related subledgers on a weekly basis
Review income statement variances within overhead accounts and report findings
Ensure accurate and consistent GL coding for expenses
Accrue and defer expenses as needed
Process high-volume invoices (100-150 per week) with strong attention to detail
Perform 3-way matching and prioritize invoice entry
Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments
Maintain vendor records, including W-9s and 1099 processing
Apply use tax to AP transactions and support general sales tax knowledge
Respond to vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoices and payments
Investigate and resolve discrepancies across departments
Manage shared AP inbox and assist with incoming calls
Support month-end close activities and communicate outstanding items
Maintain organized AP files and documentation
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
1-3 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
Experience working within ERP systems and multiple integrated platforms
Strong Excel skills (reconciliations, data analysis)
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
