Accounts Payable Specialist (Temporary Contract; Immediate Opportunity)

Princeton, NJ | Hybrid/On-Site | Temporary Contract

Compensation: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

A organization is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to support its finance team on a temporary contract basis. This role offers a great opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while supporting key finance operations initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with invoice processing and ensure compliance with established financial policies and procedures

• Support expense management activities, including audits, accruals, reporting, and end-user support

• Monitor and manage expense-related mailboxes

• Support purchase order processes, including setup, maintenance, and user training

• Assist with corporate credit card administration, maintenance, and issue resolution

• Collaborate with finance and cross-functional teams to improve processes and support daily operations

• Maintain accurate records and support month-end and operational finance activities as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus*

• 1-3 years of accounting, finance, accounts payable, or finance operations experience

• Understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and revenue recognition

• Experience working in a regulated environment such as pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or life sciences preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and organization

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and stakeholder groups

• Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is highly preferred
