Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist - Real Estate to join our accounting team. This role will be responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor payments, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate financial records. The ideal candidate has accounts payable experience, strong organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced real estate environment.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist - Real Estate:
  • Process and code vendor invoices accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and issue weekly check runs and electronic payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor records and ensure proper documentation.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities and account reconciliations.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
  • Support the accounting team with additional administrative and financial tasks as needed.
Required Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist - Real Estate:
  • 2+ years of accounts payable experience.
  • Experience processing high-volume invoices.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounts Payable Specialist - Real Estate:
  • Real estate, property management, or construction industry experience.
  • Experience with Yardi, MRI, or other property management/accounting systems.
  • Knowledge of general accounting principles and month-end processes.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
