Job Description Accounts Payable Specialist
  • Part-Time to Full-Time | Contract-to-Hire
    Located in Riverside
    Paying: $27-30/hour, based on experience
    Manufacturing and Epicor experience plus
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support a growing accounting team in a hands-on, high-volume environment. This role is ideal for someone who can independently manage full-cycle AP processes, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and contribute to process improvements with minimal supervision.

The position will begin on a part-time schedule, working approximately 3-4 days per week at 8 hours per day. During month-end close periods, the schedule will increase to 5 days per week. This opportunity is expected to transition into a full-time, contract-to-hire position over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle full-cycle accounts payable processing including invoice entry, coding, matching, approvals, and payment processing
  • Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
  • Reconcile AP subledger activity to the general ledger and assist with month-end close tasks
  • Investigate and resolve vendor discrepancies, payment issues, and account inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain compliance with internal controls, company procedures, and audit requirements
  • Assist with improving AP workflows, documentation, and operational efficiencies
  • Collaborate with accounting, purchasing, and operations teams to support daily business functions
  • Support audit requests and reporting as needed
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of recent accounts payable experience in a senior-level or lead capacity
  • Strong understanding of full-cycle AP processes and internal controls
  • Experience with ERP systems; Epicor experience highly preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis functions
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities
  • Manufacturing or aerospace industry experience preferred
