Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Elk Grove, CA
Pay Rate: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour DOE
Job Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team in Elk Grove. The ideal candidate will have experience managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, including invoice processing, three-way matching, vendor communications, and check runs. This role requires strong organizational skills, accuracy, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounts payable processing from receipt of invoice through payment.
• Review and verify invoices for accuracy and proper approvals.
• Complete three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices.
• Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure coding accuracy.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and other electronic payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.
• Maintain organized AP files and supporting documentation.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and AP reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
• Support the accounting team with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounts payable experience, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Experience with full-cycle AP, three-way matching, and check runs required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AP best practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, construction, or similar industries.
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar.
