Accounts Payable Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a growing and well-established organization to find an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a high-volume environment, thrives on accuracy, and takes pride in ensuring vendors are paid correctly and on time. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining strong vendor relationships and supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. This is a hybrid role working 3 days a week in office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process a high volume of vendor invoices with a strong focus on accuracy and efficiency.

  • Review purchase orders, receiving documentation, and invoices to ensure proper matching and approval before payment.

  • Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, pricing variances, and vendor inquiries.

  • Prepare and process weekly payment batches through checks, ACH, and other electronic payment methods.

  • Maintain vendor records, including onboarding documentation and compliance-related files.

  • Work cross-functionally with purchasing, operations, and accounting teams to resolve outstanding issues.

  • Monitor payment deadlines and identify opportunities to take advantage of available vendor discounts.

  • Support month-end close activities by reconciling accounts payable balances and assisting with audit requests.

  • Generate reports and perform account analysis as needed.

  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives within the accounting department.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of recent accounts payable experience in a manufacturing, distribution, logistics, industrial, or similarly fast-paced environment.

  • Experience processing large volumes of invoices and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong understanding of invoice matching, vendor management, and payment processing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with spreadsheets, formulas, and reporting functions.

  • Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently while contributing to a team environment.
