LHH is partnering with an innovative and rapidly growing life sciences organization to hire an Accounts Payable Specialist to join its accounting team. This role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, employee expenses, and vendor payments while maintaining compliance with internal controls and company policies.
Reporting to Accounting leadership, this position plays an important role in supporting daily accounting operations within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable managing confidential financial information.
Key Responsibilities
Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and corporate card transactions.
Review purchase orders and supporting documentation to ensure accurate payment processing (2-way and 3-way matching)
Prepare and execute ACH, wire, and other electronic payments.
Maintain accounts payable records, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with internal departments and external vendors.
Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, account reconciliations, and annual tax reporting processes.
Assist with audit requests and provide required documentation.
Ensure adherence to internal controls, approval workflows, and accounting policies.
Maintain vendor files and validate banking and tax information.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred (relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
2+ years of accounts payable experience.
Experience working in a regulated or highly controlled business environment preferred.
ERP system experience required; experience with cloud-based accounting systems is highly desirable.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS)
Understanding of accounting principles and financial controls.
Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Pay Details: $31.25 to $36.05 per hour
