We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Consulting Accounts Payable Specialist to join our vibrant Accounting + Finance team. This is an incredible opportunity for a professional with a strong background in accounts payable, who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our accounts payable processes.

Responsibilities:

As a Consulting Accounts Payable Specialist, your main responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the full cycle of accounts payable activities, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.
2. Using Microsoft Excel to develop and maintain v-look ups and pivot tables to manage large sets of financial data.
3. Coding invoices accurately to ensure proper classification and recording of financial transactions.
4. Conducting vendor set-ups and maintaining up-to-date vendor files.
5. Reconciling accounts payable ledger with general ledger and resolving any discrepancies.
6. Processing debits and credits accurately and in a timely manner.
7. Preparing and posting journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
8. Assisting in month-end closing activities and providing support for auditing processes.
9. Collaborating with the accounting team to improve processes and implement financial policies.
10. Providing consultative advice and support to other departments regarding accounts payable issues and best practices.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate for the Consulting Accounts Payable Specialist position should possess:

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounting Clerk role.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including v-look ups, pivot tables, and other advanced functions.
4. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and financial data analysis.
5. Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes, including coding invoices, vendor set-up, debits and credits, reconciliation, and journal entries.
6. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to analyze large sets of data and extract meaningful insights.
7. Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in work output.
8. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.
9. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
10. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making skills.
