Job Description:

  • The Account Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the general accounting team.
  • This role ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and effective internal controls.
  • The AP Supervisor will also mentor and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the general accounting team to ensure efficient and accurate processing of financial transactions.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance internal controls and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing training and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting and finance.

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in general accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to adapt to changing business needs.

Education:
  • Prefer Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
