Fourth UNION AFFILIATION:Temporary Employee JOB SUMMARY Under the supervision of a higher classified employee, performs accounts payable/receivable operations for all county departments conforming to established policies and procedures. Processes accounts payable/ receivable transactions, and other related requests from county departments. Prepares necessary reports and implements appropriate internal audit trails. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

  • Processes payments due all vendors or employees, including reviewing for appropriate documentation and/or authorized signature. Reviews invoice/request for payment. Enters necessary information into County financial system.
  • Maintains vendor, contractor and payable files. Ensure clean audit trail to meet required and established audit specifications.
  • Acts as liaison with other departments and agencies to answer inquiries and resolve problems involving inquiries and payments.
  • Data entry for utility tracking baseline.
  • Maintains front desk presence. Greets visitors and accepts deliveries.
  • Other administrative duties as assigned.

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Using and understanding Accounts Payable module in the Countys financial system. On the job training will be provided.
  • Effective research and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Entering and retrieving information from a computer termination with sufficient speed and accuracy.
  • Willingness to learn and do your best.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen and hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person or over the telephone. Duties may require employee to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. EXPERIENCE Administrative office work experience preferred.
