Job Description

Ledgent Finance and Accounting has a financial services partner located in the Bloomington area needing to add to their Accounts Receivable team!

  • Pay: $23-$25/hr
  • Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
  • Contract to permanent hire

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and apply customer payments (ACH, wire, lockbox, checks, credit cards) to customer accounts
  • Post daily cash receipts and ensure timely recording in the accounting system
  • Research and resolve payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, short pays, and overpayments
  • Reconcile payment batches and cash receipts to bank activity
  • Maintain accurate customer account records and documentation
  • Collaborate with Collections, Billing, and Customer Service teams to resolve account issues
  • Handle customer inquiries related to payments and account balances
  • Support month-end close activities, including AR and cash reconciliations
  • Assist with audit requests by providing payment documentation and reports
  • Follow internal controls, SOX requirements (if applicable), and company policies

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounts receivable, payment processing, or related accounting role
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and accounts receivable processes
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines in a high‑volume environment
