Job Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk
Location: Fort Wright, Kentucky
Pay: $23 to $25 per hour
Schedule: 1st shift
Job Type: Contract to hire
LHH is partnering with our client to hire an Accounts Receivable Clerk to support a busy accounting team. This contract-to-hire opportunity offers stability, growth potential, and the chance to work in a collaborative, detail-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
Post customer payments by recording cash, check, and credit card transactions
Assist with processing lockbox transactions and local deposits
Update accounts receivable by reviewing and tracking unpaid invoices
Investigate and resolve account discrepancies by working with sales and customer service teams
Research and resolve invalid or unauthorized deductions in coordination with internal departments and customers
Support collections efforts by reviewing payment history, credit lines, and customer payment plans
Assist with preparing and distributing monthly customer statements
Support credit functions, including processing new credit applications and gathering reference information
Maintain accurate financial records while ensuring strict confidentiality
Assist with reporting, data tracking, and additional accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications:
Previous accounts receivable, billing, or accounting support experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Solid customer service and communication skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Ability to manage numbers, process transactions, and reconcile discrepancies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Experience with accounting or ERP systems is a plus
Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience
1+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting role
