You’ll work closely with division leaders and the Controller, supporting all IPC locations (3 in Indiana and 1 in Pennsylvania). Our accounting team is integrated, collaborative, and fully engaged with the business — not siloed away in “corporate.”

What You’ll Do

Billing & Invoicing Excellence
    • Prepare and process timely, accurate invoices for both the Mulch and Pallet divisions.
    • Reconcile PalleTrack data with Traverse to ensure billing accuracy.
    • Validate and reconcile Bills of Lading (BOLs) to confirm details match invoicing.
    • Maintain organized and timely filing of invoices and related records.
    • Assist with the preparation and distribution of customer statements.
Payment Application & Reconciliation
    • Ensure timely and accurate application of customer payments (cash, check, credit card, and EFT).
    • Reconcile customer accounts to ensure balances are up to date and discrepancies are resolved quickly.
Collections & Customer Communication
    • Notify customers of skipped or outstanding invoices identified during payment processing.
    • Lead communication with all Mulch customers and designated Pallet customers regarding billing, payments, and account questions.
    • Contribute to effective collections efforts while maintaining professionalism and positive relationships.
Sales Support & Collaboration
    • Partner with the sales team to ensure smooth new customer setups and complete documentation.
    • Serve as a direct point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely updates and accurate information.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance customer satisfaction and streamline processes.
Process Improvement & Documentation
    • Help develop, document, and refine processes that support IPC’s continued growth and efficiency.
    • Create and maintain a detailed desk manual that explains not only how tasks are done, but why — building understanding and consistency across the team.
    • Assist with the implementation of PalletConnect and other system improvements to drive accuracy and productivity.

Skills Needed to Win

  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–2 years of accounting or AR experience required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Clear and effective communication skills — both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with Traverse, PalleTrack, or similar ERP/accounting software preferred.
