Job Summary The Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies. This role supports overall financial operations by processing invoices, tracking payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and clients. Accounts Payable (AP) Responsibilities Process and verify vendor invoices for accuracy and proper approval Match purchase orders, receipts, and invoices Prepare and execute payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies or billing issues Ensure timely payment to vendors to maintain strong relationships Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date Assist with month-end closing processes and accruals Accounts Receivable (AR) Responsibilities Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and on schedule Record incoming payments and apply them to appropriate accounts Monitor customer accounts for overdue payments and follow up on collections Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accuracy Investigating and resolving customer billing issues or disputes Prepare ageing reports and provide status updates to management General Accounting Duties Reconcile accounts and assist with audits Maintain accurate financial records and documentation Support financial reporting and analysis Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Assist with process improvement initiatives Qualifications 2+ years of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general accounting Proficiency in QuickBooks accounting software Strong Excel skills Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial processes Skills & Competencies Strong attention to detail and accuracy Excellent organizational and time management skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills Problem-solving and analytical abilities Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines High level of integrity and confidentiality Equal Employment Statement Mountaineer Employment Solutions is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
