We are currently seeking a highly organized and dependable Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our growing team on a part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone with strong medical billing and collections experience who understands the unique landscape of specialty infusion and specialty pharmacy reimbursement.


Position Summary


The Accounts Receivable Clerk will be responsible for managing outstanding insurance and patient balances, posting payments, resolving claim discrepancies, following up on denials, and ensuring accurate reimbursement for infusion services and specialty medications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, trustworthy, and experienced in navigating complex payer environments.


This position plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health of the organization while supporting our mission of delivering quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities


  •  Manage and follow up on outstanding accounts receivable balances 
  •  Submit and track insurance claims for specialty infusion services 
  •  Investigate and resolve denied or underpaid claims 
  •  Communicate with insurance carriers regarding claim status and reimbursement 
  •  Post insurance and patient payments accurately 
  •  Reconcile accounts and maintain accurate billing records 
  •  Work closely with intake, authorization, pharmacy, and nursing departments 
  •  Identify trends impacting reimbursement and escalate issues appropriately 
  •  Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards 
  •  Assist with patient billing inquiries professionally and compassionately 
  •  Ensure timely and accurate documentation within billing systems 
Qualifications


Required:


  •  3–5 years of experience in: 
    •  Specialty infusion 
    •  Home infusion 
    •  Specialty pharmacy 
    •  Or closely related healthcare billing environments 
  •  Strong understanding of: 
    •  Commercial insurance 
    •  Medicare and Medicaid 
    •  Prior authorizations 
    •  EOBs and denial management 
  •  Experience with medical billing and accounts receivable processes 
  •  Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  •  High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism 
  •  Ability to work independently and manage priorities efficiently 
  •  Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
  •  Proficiency with EMR/billing systems and Microsoft Office 
Preferred:


  •  Infusion billing experience 
  •  Knowledge of HCPCS, CPT, and ICD-10 coding 
  •  Experience working in fast-paced healthcare startups or growing organizations
