The Accounts Receivable Representative will be responsible for thorough and timely patient account follow up to ensure accurate accounts receivable reporting; following up with insurance companies and/or third party payers to ensure payments by primary and secondary payers and/or self-pay patients are accurate and timely. This is a fast-paced environment, which requires attention to detail, accountability, teamwork and professional behavior.RESPONSIBILITIESWork closely with insurance companies and third-party payers to collect revenue for surgical services performedContact insurance companies by email and/or phone to collect paymentsHandle contracted and non-contracted; HMO, PPO, EPO, POS, Worker's Comp, Self-Pay and Third-Party reimbursement issuesWork all denials and corrected claims, collaborating with the Biller and/or Business Office Manager, insurance payers and/or patients on past due accountsManage credit balancesPatient balance resolution and non-patient (insurance) resolutionEnsure payments by primary and secondary payers and/or self-pay patients are accurateResponsible for thorough and timely patient account follow up to ensure accurate accounts receivable reportingAccurate and timely follow up and resolution for all accounts receivableMeeting and maintaining cash collection metrics and goalsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIESAbility to take ownership and leads by example.Ability to contribute in a cross-functional collaborative environment.Ability to learn quickly and work independently.Self-motivated with the attitude and ability to be successful as part of a team.REQUIREMENTSHigh School diploma of equivalentIdeally two or more years' experience working specifically in medical insurance collections, billing and/or accounts receivable.Experience with medical billing software and applicationsPossess basic knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance billingStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenCustomer service and patient service focusAbility to multi-task, think critically and solve problemsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment#J-18808-Ljbffr
